Where Nature Rules

Nearby walks: Stroll to the nearby fishing village of Fond St. Jean, or through Bagatelle village and have a Kubuli beer or soft drink by the fishing boats or at the Cool River Shop and Bar.

Walk up to Morne Pei and check out the fabulous view.

Walk over to the Geneva playing field; check out the soap factory and the rasta carvings.

Take a more distant walk to the imaginatively painted Catholic Church overlooking Grand Bay. Inspect the very old bell tower and the ‘sinners cemetery’.

When guides can be located, the three small waterfalls at Dubique are an amazing short trip into the rainforest. Sure-footed climbing involved.

For the truly enthusiastic walker/hiker there are two all day walking /hiking experiences that start right at Zandoli:

Walk across the bay to the village of Grand Bay, continue up the mountains to the village of Tete Morne and then take the trail down to Soufriere and Scotts Head. Stop along the way for a relaxing bath in the “Sulphur Springs”. You could take local buses back.

With a guide you can hike the Perdu Temps trail. This is part of an old mountain trail used before there were roads for people to get from the eastern side of the island to the western side of the island.

Farther off - for the very fit, an early breakfast and off to the all day Boiling Lake hike. Be prepared for lots of ups and downs with many stairs!
